Sofia Belén Strempek was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and raised in Marin County, California. She studied ballet at Dance Theatre 7 in Fairfax, California and received an intensive, well rounded education in modern, classical and choreography at San Francisco School of the Arts and Lines Ballet. She received a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah in 2012.
In addition to performing, Sofia has been published as an arts critic in the Daily Utah Chronicle, loveDANCEmore, and the Dance Enthusiast. Sofia worked as a graphic designer, and with press and social media for the New York dance company Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and its affiliated Peridance Capezio Center.
Most recently, Sofia completed a 300-hr training with Antonia Katrandjieva of Yogea. Focusing on etheric knowledge, breath work and physical alignment, this practice is beneficial for all ages in creating a balanced life that promotes creativity and growth.
